Summer Field Trials Trip

Join us for an inspiring study tour! We warmly invite you to take part in this year’s NFTN summer field trip, dedicated to sharing knowledge, meeting new people, and exploring the latest in field trials. On June 18th, 2025, we set out together to visit some of the most innovative trial sites and organisations in Skåne. This is your chance to immerse yourself in new ideas, expand your network, and engage with passionate colleagues from across the region.

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming Network excursion, featuring visits to interesting sites and organisations in Sweden.

What to expect from the day:

  • Two buses, one network: Whether you join us from Denmark or Sweden, we’ll bring everyone together for a day full of inspiration, meaningful conversations, and new connections.
  • Field trials at the centre: Our program shines a spotlight on practical field research. Visit innovative sites to see firsthand how cutting-edge trials are designed and conducted, including the equipment, statistical methods, and software that drive progress in the field.
  • Meet the innovators: Discover how research and plant breeding are carried out — from the field, to greenhouses, to high-tech laboratories. Learn how extensive trial areas in Sweden and abroad help shape the future of agriculture.
  • Explore genetic resources: Gain insight into vital work with experimentation, development, and the long-term maintenance of genetic diversity.
  • Networking and knowledge sharing: Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet new people, exchange experiences, and spark new collaborations.
  • Good food and great company: Enjoy lunch at Borgeby Restaurant, as well as coffee and cake along the way.

Sites we will visit:

  • Hushållningssällskapet
Presentation of the organisation and their extensive field trial work, including equipment and statistical methods.

  • Nordic Beet Research
Insights into their cross-border research structure and their approach to field trials and data analysis.

  • Lantmännen
Introduction to their breeding work, trial sites, and research facilities (field, greenhouse, and laboratory).

  • Nordgen
Overview of their experimental, development, and maintenance work with plant genetic resources.
