NFTN 3rd Conference 2025

Welcome to the 3rd Nordic Field Trials Network (NFTN) Conference, taking place in Finland from March 3rd to March 5th, 2025. This year, we are thrilled to offer a 3-day event packed with practical insights, engaging discussions, and unparalleled networking opportunities for professionals involved in field trials, research, and agriculture across the Nordic region.

The conference will be hosted by LUKE – Natural Resources Institute Finland, providing the perfect setting to explore the latest innovations in technology and automation for fieldwork. With Finland as this year’s focal point, participants will gain unique insights into local approaches to field trials, complemented by contributions from other Nordic countries.


NFTN 3rd Conference 2025: Innovation in Technology and Automation in Field Work

 

Program Overview

The conference program is designed to address the full process of field trials – from planning and execution to data collection, analysis, and application in agriculture. Highlights include:

  • Day 1 (March 3rd):

    • Pick up in Helsinki Airport at 12:00
    • A field visit to NSL Field Trials with practical demonstrations and discussions.
    • Networking dinner to foster connections and exchange ideas.

  • Day 2 (March 4th):

    • Engaging expert presentations on topics such as precision agriculture, drones, and smart farming platforms.
    • Interactive workshops and discussions.
    • A tour of LUKE’s laboratory and field facilities.

  • Day 3 (March 5th):

    • Working group sessions to collaborate on current challenges.
    • Final presentations and discussions.
    • Program concludes after lunch, allowing for same-day travel home.
    • Drop off in Helsinki Airport

The detailed program will be updated regularly as we secure more speakers. There is still an opportunity for participants to apply as speakers and share their expertise with the network.

We aim for a minimum of 10 presentations, with at the moment include contributions from Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. The program will balance short presentations with ample time for discussions and workshops.

Hybrid Participation

We highly encourage in-person attendance to maximize the value of networking and informal discussions during breaks, the evening events, and shared transport. However, online participation is available for those unable to join physically. Please note:

  • Online access is limited to presentations (not workshops).
  • Online participants must register and notify us via email to receive the streaming link.

  • Venue: LUKE - Natural Resources Institute Finland, Jokioinen, Finland
  • Dates: March 3rd–5th, 2025
  • Conference Fee:
    • Physical Attendance: 500 DKK (excl. VAT)
    • Online Participation: 500 DKK (excl. VAT)
  • Accommodation: Participants can book rooms at the Fabrik Hotel (100–120€ per night). A quota for 35 rooms has been reserved, which can be expanded if needed.
  • Transport: Bus transport between the airport, the conference locations, and the hotel is included.
  • Coffee and cake are included.
  • Lunch and Dinner for two evenings are also included.
