Webinar: Value creation of cross boarder cooperation for field trial experiments

Date: May 27 | Time: 13:00 - 15:00 (CET)

At the Nordic Field Trial Network (NFTN), we recognize the potential of cross-border collaboration to enhance innovation and efficiency in field trials and data analysis. Across the Nordic countries, numerous companies and universities undertake field trials for a variety of purposes. While there at the NFTN conferences is a continuous exchange of information on the methods, technologies, and analyses, much of this work is conducted in parallel rather than in conjunction, and without development cross borders.

Objective:

This webinar aimed to explore how cross-border cooperation could overcome challenges faced by smaller research projects, which might otherwise be overlooked, and how it could facilitate broader variety testing and screening. By working together, we increased the size and diversity of our datasets, including a wider range of climatic conditions and soil types across the Nordic region.

Discussion Points:

  • Identified research areas and applied field trial experiments that benefited from wider collaboration.
  • Discussed the future of field trial experiments in this context.
  • Leveraged the Nordic field trial system (NFTS) as a digital hub for data collection and analysis, fostering cross-border cooperation.
  • Explored innovative ideas for implementing cross-border cooperation, sharing data, and knowledge on technology and methods.

Outcomes from the Webinar:

Participants had the opportunity to:

  • Present ideas for cross-border projects.
  • Gain inspiration for new projects.
  • Identify potential collaborators across the Nordic region.
  • Learn from others' experiences in managing cross-Nordic projects.
  • Discover potential funding sources to support cross-border Nordic projects.
