23 May 2023: Joint Symposium on Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emissions - Measuring and Monitoring
The symposium was jointly organized by the Field Emission Network and the Nordic Field Trial Network. Collaborative action was fundamental in addressing the climate challenges and with this event we aimed to take the first step in bringing together representatives from Nordic countries (and other countries with interest) to exchange knowledge on techniques and know-hows to measure, monitor and mitigate agricultural GHG emissions and to work collectively towards transitioning to climate-friendly agriculture.
Agricultural soils are one of the largest contributors to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It is crucial to develop and deploy effective measurement and monitoring systems to ensure generation of robust emission data needed to support policy decisions concerning climate change mitigation.
The topic of this symposium was focused on cutting-edge and current techniques for measuring and monitoring agricultural GHGs from soil.
